April 2011
QatarDebate hosted the 1st International Universities Arabic Debating Championship with 40 teams from 19 universities representing 12 different countries. Qatar became the first country in the world to hold an event of this kind.
February 2010
QatarDebate hosted the 22nd World Schools Debating Championship. Not only did Qatar become the first country in the Arab World to host this competition, Qatar also attracted over 57 countries to participate.
February 2009
As an encore to their stunning debut in 2008, the Qatar National Debate team won four out of eight debates during the World Schools Debating Championship in Athens. What’s more, QatarDebate Center won the bid of hosting the International World Schools Debating Championship held in Doha, after a strong run of competitions with a number of world capitals.
September 2008
The inaugural QatarDebate team attended the World Schools Debating Championship in Washington DC, winning four out of eight debates. As a result, they set a new world record for the best performance by a new entrant country in the competition.
