Tournaments

QatarDebate holds a league that is spread out through five tournaments, as in one tournament per month, with points being accumulated throughout each league. Each tournament will have 4 rounds, beginning at 8.30 and end by 5pm at the latest. 

The format used is British Parliamentary, as in 2 individuals per team, four teams competing against one another in any given room. The motions are not released until each respective round begins. All teams must debate all four rounds in the tournament; there are no knock-out rounds. At the end of each individual tournament day, the debate points earned by the top two teams from the University are accumulated. 

Teams must debate in at least 3 out of the 5 tournaments in order for their debate points to be counted. A winner and a runner-up will receive awards based on a cumulative score at the end of the five tournaments.
